thrifting scores

actually cool stuff

stuff i actually bought

visited the thrift store in the gayborhood for the first time in a while and was NOT disappointed. my friend really wanted the jimbo so i ended up going back the next day to grab him (+ bonus squib)

mr. president....

very cool shirt :3

got this awesome The Dog (tm) plush for TWO (!!!!) dollars a while back. i love him so much bro

this pochacco has a wonderful story behind him. i found him on the bottom shelf of the plush section at my favorite thrift store, next to another build a bear in nearly perfect condition. i've been keeping my eye out for the sanrio BABs for a while so i was super excited! i grabbed the pair for further inspection and to my absolute delight, i felt that familiar little hard plastic in pochacco's paw - i knew i was in for a treat. you see, build a bears come with the option of recording a little message for a soundbox that is then put into the plush (most often in the chest or paw). and chat, when i say i hit the jackpot that day, i hit the goddamn jackpot. BOTH of the build a bears i had picked up had the same man's voice recording two different, yet similar messages: "i love you baby, i always will," and "love ya babes, always and forever." well. it appears forever is shorter than we initially anticipated. anyways, i took pochacco home with his full get-up (the very nice cashier even knocked his price down from $5 to $3!) and i destuffed him in an effort to exorcise the demon of a failed relationship from the poor fella. he cleaned up great, and now i have no goddamn clue what to do with that voice box.

things i wish i bought

i loved this little fella... unfortunately he was a dollar. and that is TOO MUCH in this economy. 25 cents or bust

this is only here because i dont have a better spot for it - but someone donated this can of dr. pebly to the library bookstore i volunteer at. i was going to take it home and bait my friends into paying me to drink it, but then an active duty military guy came in and actually wanted it. thank you for your service young man, enjoy the 42 year old can of dr pepper

such a cute vintage bird graphic, i kinda wish i got this (for display only... im sure it had lead paint LMAO)

sick ass salmonfest shirt.... unfortunately too small for me

i really wish i had bought this goose, she's so beautiful..... my cookies would taste so much sweeter coming from her decapitated head...

oh my goodness look at this fella. i love his bright yellow material and his little party hat!!!! definitely wish i had picked him up.

initially, i thought it would be really weird to buy a pre-written post card, but honestly this is such a cool little piece of history. it would go great in one of my scrapbooks ngl. i might go back to this shop the next time i'm in the area and grab one, i'm sure they're not flying off the shelves lol.
